Maize is a crop that has never really been grown consistently in the North East of Scotland, however the evolution of the Samco system where maize is sown under biodegradable plastic has allowed the crop to be grown further north than previously thought. Together with agronomy specialists Agrovista we are looking at a number of different varieties and plastics to see which gives the most consistent results. The crop can be grown for renewable energy purposes (specifically AD), and high quality feed for livestock. 2011 is the 2nd year we have grown maize and would be more than happy to show you round our dedicated trial site, please get in touch for more details.
